The 7th annual Dive Fiesta will be held in May 2009. The venue is to be determined but will be in the west of Fiji, either Coral Coast, Nadi, Lautoka, Ra area, Mamanucas or Yasawas. The event has grown in recent years. It showcases scuba diving in Fiji, offering sellers of dive services and products the opportunity of marketing Fiji diving to buyers of Fiji dive vacations. Previously the event has been held at the Sonaisali Island Resort but the 2009 event may be hosted at an alternative venue.

Ratu Sir Lala Sukuna Day

Commonly known as Ratu Sukuna Day, this is a national public holiday in Fiji Islands, celebrated each year at the end of May. The day is in honour of Ratu Sir Lala Sukuna, the national father of modern Fiji and who died on 30th May 1958 at the age of 70.
